Wild Blossoms Above the Sea was inspired by the wild flowers that cover the hillside along the Sơn Trà Peninsula in Da Nang, Vietnam. Standing above the bay, the artist saw a cliff covered in blossoms, with the sea quietly breathing below – and turned that memory into this large, luminous painting.
In the foreground, vivid wild flowers in reds, yellows, whites and purples bloom freely on a green slope, untouched and unplanned. Beyond them, a soft silver sea opens into the distance, dotted with small white sailboats. Above, rays of sunlight break through layered clouds, washing the scene in a gentle, hopeful glow.
